Duties:
Provide technical assistance to support senior engineers, verifying site characteristics, developing electrical calculations, and preparing technical reports. Assess risks and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure responsible decision-making. Perform basic professional electrical engineering work related to the design of single-line diagram, three-line diagram, wiring diagrams, general arrangement, substation layout and bus arrangement, grounding grid design, and lightning protection in conformance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits. Provide technical assistance on various design requirements, equipment sizing and cabling, AC/DC panel design, and conduit and trenching design strategies to ensure the safety and functionality of end-users, systems, and infrastructure. Support senior engineers by researching and recommending fundamental components identified in design requirements, as well as field equipment applications and operations. Assist in verifying site characteristics and providing technical assistance on engineering, design, testing, maintenance, and construction procedures and issues. Develop electrical calculations for loads, equipment sizing, feeder sizing, voltage drop, grounding, lighting circuits and controls, facility and electrical service, and power distribution. Prepare technical reports summarizing research findings and conclusions, generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using sketches, calculations, electronic systems, spreadsheets, and software. Assist technical staff and project managers in identifying and assessing risks, offering input and analysis on design concepts, construction, mitigation and improvement activities, and remediation projects. Complete training on assigned tasks. Work collaboratively with other engineers and planners on projects involving electrical infrastructure authorities on federal, state, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to company related policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field plus one (1) year of experience as an Electrical Engineer or related role. Experience must include utilizing Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks to verify electrical layouts, compare design models against field conditions, and identify routing conflicts across structural, electrical, and process systems. Performing on-site inspections of electrical infrastructureincluding duct banks, grounding grids, switchgear rooms, electrical panels, Fire Alarm systems, and transformer padsto confirm compliance with NEC, utility requirements, and project specs.
