Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer to join a product development team dedicated to designing and manufacturing high-performance electrical equipment. In this role, you will engineer switchgear, low voltage switchboards, and integrated power systems that deliver high reliability, scalability, and efficiency for commercial and industrial applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create robust, standards-compliant solutions that support the full product lifecycle from concept through manufacturing and delivery. Responsibilities Design and develop electrical equipment, including switchgear, switchboards, and power distribution units tailored for commercial and industrial environments. Create detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, bills of material, equipment layouts, and quality inspection documents to support manufacturing and customer delivery. Collaborate with mechanical and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical components into complete products. Conduct power system analysis and simulations to validate performance, safety, and compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements. Interface with clients and internal stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify specifications, and provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle. Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and codes, including UL, IEEE, ANSI, NEC, and customer-specific requirements. Support testing, certification, and quality assurance activities for new and existing products to ensure reliability and regulatory compliance. Contribute to innovation initiatives aimed at improving energy efficiency, modularity, and digital monitoring capabilities in electrical equipment. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. At least 3 years of experience in electrical equipment design. Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, switchgear, and switchboards. Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical for electrical design and documentation. Understanding of controls design and core electrical engineering principles. Experience working with power distribution equipment in commercial and industrial applications. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturing principles. Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on practical, reliable solutions. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients. Solid documentation skills for creating clear drawings, specifications, and technical reports. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with UL standards such as UL891, UL1558, UL67, and UL508A. Knowledge of thermal management, arc flash mitigation, and fault tolerance in electrical equipment. Exposure to digital monitoring systems, PLCs, and SCADA integration. Experience with AutoCAD Electrical is preferred for advanced electrical design workflows. Ability to interpret and apply industry standards such as UL, IEEE, ANSI, and NEC in design activities. Experience in integrating electrical designs with mechanical and manufacturing considerations. Work Environment This role is based in an office environment, where you will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams using modern design tools such as AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical. You will spend most of your time performing design, documentation, and analysis work in a professional setting, collaborating with colleagues and interfacing with stakeholders to support the development and delivery of electrical equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Dallas, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
