Job Description

Position Overview Location:
Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Arizona, or Denver. The company is planning to establish and operate in one or more of these locations The Electrical Engineer - Overmolded Custom Cable Assemblies will lead, establish, and optimize manufacturing operations focused on overmolded custom cable assemblies and wire harness production. This role is accountable for end-to-end plant performance, including production, quality, delivery, and cost, while ensuring compliance with AS9100 and
ISO 9001
2015 standards. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring direct experience in overmolding and custom cable assembly manufacturing within aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics environments. Key Responsibilities Operations & Production Leadership Lead daily manufacturing operations including cable assembly, wire harnessing, and overmolding Drive performance against key metrics including On-Time Delivery (OTD), throughput, and labor efficiency Develop and execute production plans aligned with customer demand and program timelines Ensure optimal utilization of labor, equipment, and capacity Quality & Compliance Ensure full compliance with AS9100 and
ISO 9001
2015 standards Lead audit readiness, participate in internal and external audits, and drive Corrective Actions (CARs) Maintain strict adherence to traceability, documentation control, and workmanship standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620 preferred) Partner with Quality teams to reduce defects, rework, and scrap Team Leadership & Workforce Development Lead and develop supervisors, team leads, and production staff Drive accountability, performance management, and continuous skills development Support recruitment, onboarding, and structured training programs Build a high-performance, safety-driven culture Process Improvement & NPI Integration Identify inefficiencies and implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives Improve workflow, cycle times, and cost efficiency Collaborate with Engineering and NPI teams to ensure smooth product introduction and scale-up Support transition from First Article to stable production Supply Chain & Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Inventory to ensure material readiness Align production schedules with material availability and customer commitments Coordinate with Shipping and Logistics to meet delivery timelines Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with OSHA and local safety regulations Promote a safety-first culture through audits, training, and enforcement of procedures Maintain safe operation of equipment, tooling, and overmolding processes Reporting & Performance Management Track, analyze, and report on key operational KPIs Provide visibility on risks, bottlenecks, and mitigation plans Communicate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders New Facility Setup & Expansion (if applicable) Lead new site setup, including layout design, equipment installation, and process flow Establish work instructions, SOPs, and production controls Support hiring, training, and ramp-up to full operational capacity Qualifications & Experience Required 5-10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations leadership Proven hands-on experience in: Overmolding processes Custom cable assemblies / wire harness manufacturing Preferred Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field Background as an Electronics Engineer or Electronic Technologist Experience with
IPC/WHMA-A-620
