Job Description

A leading American Manufacturer of custom electrical control panels is looking to hire an Electrical Engineering Manager immediately. The candidate will lead a team of engineers to design, develop, and deliver innovative, high-quality, and compliant electrical solutions for automated industrial equipment, with a focus on pump stations and water treatment systems. This role ensures seamless collaboration between engineering and manufacturing, maintains and improves engineering standards, drives technical innovation, and delivers projects on time and within budget while adhering to all relevant industry and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 8-10 electrical and controls engineers, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and professional development support. Plan, organize, and oversee electrical engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget. Ensure all electrical designs comply with applicable codes and standards, including NEC and UL508A, and meet internal quality and safety requirements. Direct and review the design of electrical systems for automated industrial equipment, including pump stations and water treatment systems. Oversee and approve schematic design, electrical layout, and CAD drawings using tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN. Manage and standardize control panel design to ensure consistency, safety, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance. Coordinate closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient to build, and aligned with production capabilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, operations, and other engineering disciplines, to support multiple product lines. Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, documentation, and standards to enhance quality, reliability, and efficiency. Identify and implement innovative electrical and control solutions that improve system performance, reduce cost, and support product line growth. Monitor project progress, manage priorities, and allocate engineering resources effectively across concurrent projects. Engage with internal stakeholders and external clients as needed to clarify requirements, present design concepts, and resolve technical issues. Ensure thorough documentation of designs, calculations, and specifications for all electrical engineering work. Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex electrical or controls issues in existing systems and products. Promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability within the engineering team. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field. Minimum of 6+ years of experience in electrical or controls engineering. At least 2+ years of experience in a managerial or formal leadership role within engineering. High proficiency with industry-standard CAD software, such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN. Strong background in electrical engineering for automated industrial equipment. Deep understanding of electrical principles, power distribution, and control systems. In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards, including NEC and UL508A. Demonstrated engineering management skills, including team leadership and resource planning. Experience in electrical design and schematic design for industrial applications. Experience with control panel design for OEM or system integrator environments. Strong organizational and project management abilities to handle multiple projects and priorities. Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills in technical and managerial contexts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with diverse teams and clients. Additional Skills & Qualifications Master's or PhD in an engineering discipline is preferred. Experience with pump stations and/or water treatment systems is preferred. OEM or system integrator experience in controls engineering is highly beneficial. Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical is preferred; EPLAN experience is also valuable. background in designing electrical systems specifically for pumping stations or water treatment applications. Ability to step from a Lead Electrical Engineer role into a broader management position. Demonstrated ability to support multiple product lines in a fast-growing organization. Work Environment This is an onsite, office-based role within a facility where engineering and manufacturing operate in the same location, enabling close collaboration between design and production teams. The position follows a Monday-Friday schedule with a flexible start time between approximately 5:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., allowing some flexibility in daily work hours. The environment supports a fast-growing organization with multiple product lines, particularly in pump stations and water treatment systems, and offers the opportunity to oversee a dedicated engineering team without travel requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Dallas, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
