ABOUT THE ECE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UTEP ( http://ece.utep.edu ) offers two undergraduate and three graduate degrees: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCpE), Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE.), Master of Science in a Computer Engineering (MSCpE), and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The department has an enrollment of over 800 students with 713 undergraduate and 92 graduate students (M.S. and Ph.D. students). The ECE faculty is actively involved in sponsored research with annual expenditures of more than $4.7 million. Research activities are carried out in multiple research laboratories at the Department and at research centers in the College and the University.

Job Description:
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant to begin in fall 2026. The Department invites applications from outstanding candidates from all areas of electrical and/or computer engineering. The Department has a particular interest in candidates with expertise related to control and cyber physical systems. We are interested in candidates who can support department growth, complement current expertise, and contribute to research focus areas at the department through fundamental disciplinary and/or application-specific research. Priority will be given to the overall originality and promise of the candidate's work and potential to contribute to the ECE Department's and UTEP's vision and mission. Candidates will be expected to engage in undergraduate and graduate teaching and student mentoring, develop a vigorous externally funded research program in their technical areas, and contribute to institutional and professional service. The application materials should clearly demonstrate the potential of the candidate to succeed in meeting these expectations.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or a related field. Commitment to undergraduate and graduate education. Demonstrated scholarly achievements as evidenced by a track record of publications. Demonstrated potential for establishing an extramurally funded research program. Excellent communication skills.
