Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an Engineer at Homewood Suites Midland, where innovation meets excellence in facility management and maintenance. In this vital role, you will oversee the operational integrity of our residential and commercial properties, ensuring all systems run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Your expertise will help create a comfortable, safe environment for residents and staff alike, while supporting the ongoing development and upkeep of our facilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced, service-oriented setting that values leadership, initiative, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing components to ensure optimal operation. Utilize schematics and technical drawings to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and systems. Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to automate and control building functions such as HVAC, lighting, and security systems. Conduct welding repairs when necessary to maintain structural integrity of facilities. Manage facilities maintenance tasks using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, inventory, and maintenance history. Supervise maintenance staff and contractors during repair projects or upgrades, ensuring safety protocols are followed. Perform electrical testing using tools like ohmmeters to diagnose issues accurately. Oversee residential painting projects and other aesthetic improvements to enhance property appearance. Maintain compliance with safety standards through regular inspections and adherence to regulations related to electrical work, welding, and general facilities upkeep. Provide excellent customer service by addressing resident concerns promptly and professionally while maintaining high standards of quality. Lead small teams or projects related to manufacturing or renovation efforts within the property. Experience Proven experience in facilities maintenance or building engineering within residential or commercial environments. Strong mechanical knowledge paired with electrical experience; familiarity with schematics is essential. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), welding techniques, and electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters. Supervisory or leadership experience managing maintenance teams or contractors is preferred. Knowledge of CMMS platforms for work order management is highly desirable. Skilled in residential painting, plumbing repairs, HVAC systems, and general building upkeep. Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and resident interactions. $17.00 - $18.50 per hour
