Core Job Responsibilities Develop, implement, and audit the use of processes, procedures, and standards. Manage all discipline resources. Execute projects within estimated budgets and schedules. Execute department training and development. Ensure engineering and design quality. Be a Champion of Lessons Learned & Continuous Improvement. Responsible for the successful execution of all projects involving Instrumentation and Electrical scope Continuously monitor staffing levels with respect to project backlog and forecasts to determine requirements for addition or removal of personnel. Meet company specified goals flowed down from executive management and determines departmental goals for the team. Implement and maintain Instrumentation and Electrical department policies, standards, and procedures. Responsible for development of Instrumentation and Electrical engineering estimates and schedules. Responsible for development of Instrumentation and Electrical procurement and construction Scope of Work and support during execution. Support and coordinate project management and engineering through analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Perform employee evaluations in accordance with company policy and schedule. Work closely with project engineers and designers in development and execution of project specific scopes, budgets, and schedules. Work closely with other department managers to assure a uniform and consistent approach to projects. ‍ Essential Qualifications BSc. Electrical Engineering or equivalent ABET accredited degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience leading an E&I Design Team with 10+ years of E&I design experience utilizing AutoCAD. Experience leading multiple small to mid-capital heavy industrial midstream and downstream projects simultaneously. Knowledge of basic construction principles providing what the field needs from engineering to be successful. Experience with design of instrumentation and electrical systems located in electrically hazardous (Classified) locations per NEC. Knowledge of standard instrumentation and electrical design, drafting, and installation practices. Proficiency of applicable industry standards including the National Electrical Code (NEC), International Society of Automation (ISA), American Petroleum Institute (API) recommended practices, Process Industry Practices (PIP), and National Electrical Manufacturer's Association (NEMA) guidelines. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical design standards, Piping and Instrument Diagrams, and other technical drawings. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to effectively communicate with team members, clients and other project stake holders. Ability to perform engineering calculations for electrical and/ or instrument systems. ‍ Physical Requirements Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds Sit for long periods of time Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects ‍ Tool Requirements Environment Most work time is spent in an office environment.
