Job Description

PTS is looking for a mid level field engineer / technician with strong experience working on-site with power distribution equipment up to 480VAC. This position plays a key role in the testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment within manufacturing and industrial settings.
Core Responsibilities:
Work directly with clients to understand project requirements and communicate technical information clearly. Provide on-site technical oversight and coordinate field activities during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Support the implementation of engineering designs and assist with resolving field issues. Oversee equipment installation, testing, maintenance, and commissioning activities . Coordinate and provide direction to contractors, technicians, and other on-site personnel. Perform field walk-downs to gather information on existing systems and support development of as-built electrical and instrumentation documentation. Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT) for electrical and power distribution systems. Collaborate with project managers and engineering leads to ensure project quality, schedule adherence, and cost control. Provide status updates and documentation related to project progress, issues, and potential change orders. Travel up to approximately 75% , including air travel, to support project sites.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience , or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience. Strong communication, documentation, and customer service skills. Demonstrated knowledge of electrical systems and power equipment up to 480 VAC . Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings . Experience evaluating installed systems to ensure alignment with approved electrical designs. Proven troubleshooting ability for electrical and control system issues. Solid understanding of panel wiring and field wiring diagrams . Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of electrical safety standards and codes , including •National Fire Protection Association standards such as NFPA 70 National Electrical Code and
NFPA 70E
