Job Description

Electrical Engineer (Houston, TX) Job Description This role involves supporting multiple concurrent development programs including next-generation electrical systems. These projects range from early R D phases to validation and commercialization stages. The position requires the ability to work comfortably across fast-paced, ambiguous environments while balancing technical rigor with customer-facing communication. You'll be part of a small, collaborative team, where ownership of deliverables and driving products forward with urgency and accountability is essential. Responsibilities Lead system-level electrical design for automotive and electromechanical products across multiple development stages. Support 2-4 active projects immediately, including battery pack and automotive-grade power bank solutions. Own electrical deliverables from concept, prototyping, validation, and launch. Drive products through OEM approval and validation processes, ensuring compliance with automotive standards and specifications. Serve as a customer-facing technical lead, supporting OEMs during development, testing, and first product launch. Coordinate closely with vendors, test labs, and external engineering partners. Participate in patent development, including writing disclosures and supporting filings for new product concepts. Translate early prototypes into production-ready designs, accounting for manufacturability, cost, and scalability. Navigate OEM bureaucracy and timelines while maintaining a strong sense of urgency and engineering discipline. Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical engineers, manufacturing, and external partners. Essential Skills Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. 5+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer (2+ years with a Master's Degree). Experience within the Automotive or Aerospace & Defense industries. Proficiency in electrical design, schematic creation, and hardware engineering. Experience with prototyping, product life cycles, and electrical systems engineering. Experience working with electronics, with a focus on batteries being a plus. Additional Skills & Qualifications Project management skills. Experience in engineering disciplines related to automotive and aerospace. Capability to lead system-level electrical design projects. Work Environment The engineering team is collaborative, hands-on, and product-driven, with a strong bias toward innovation and speed. This would be supporting a cutting-edge R D team! Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tomball, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $49.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
