Job Description

Description Markon is seeking a detail-oriented Systems Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) specializing in the lifecycle management of Digital Access Control Policies. This role focuses on translating legal, governance, and security mandates into practical technical workflows within Identity and Access Management (IAM) ecosystems. The ideal candidate will help implement least-privilege access environments, streamline attribute-based access control (ABAC) policies, and support secure, compliant access management frameworks that meet both internal audit requirements and external regulatory standards Responsibilities Translate digital policies and governance requirements into operational processes aligned with existing technical solutions Provide clear recommendations and guidance to internal teams and external program stakeholders Collaborate with Mission Partners, Data Stewards, and governance teams to interpret digital policy requests and translate them into actionable technical requirements Support implementation of Just-In-Time (JIT) access policies that grant access only when approved conditions are met Implement and support Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) and dynamic policy engines within IAM environments Apply AI-driven techniques to improve data and policy workflows, including anomaly detection and policy analysis Develop and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reporting to track governance performance and policy compliance Assist in auditing and validating certified data repositories and access control systems Qualifications Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or related discipline 12+ years of relevant experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) Experience with
IAM / ICAM
systems, including authentication, authorization, and attribute-based architectures Experience implementing or supporting Identity Credential and Access Management (ICAM) solutions Familiarity with data governance principles, compliance frameworks, and metadata management Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to balance technical solutions with policy and compliance requirements Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for policy and mission stakeholders Desired Qualifications Experience with data governance and metadata management platforms, such as Collibra, Informatica, or Alation Familiarity with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) policy and Zero Trust security architectures Experience with automation pipelines or AI-enabled data governance tools Background working in policy, governance, or compliance-driven environments Familiarity with Sponsor ICAM services Salary Range USD $180,000.00 - USD $205,000.00 /Yr.
