Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. The Advanced Propulsion team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced technical leader to spearhead the development of the next generation of fast attack submarines, including the future

Class and SSNX. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the design of innovative components and systems, enhancing capabilities, performance, and maintainability. Must Have Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 0 years of experience. Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program. Nice to Have

• Model Based System Engineering experience
• Specific knowledge of submarine propulsion plant design.
• Direct technical expertise with turbine generators including design of generators, controls, and magnetic bearings.
• Experience in technical writing. Candidate will lead or contribute to the development of written technical deliverables.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
