OVERVIEW Merrick is seeking a full-time Electrical Engineer to serve in a variety of energy markets, including refining, midstream, and downstream oil & gas, power, and renewable fuels. This is a direct-hire position and can be located at our Tulsa, OK, Greenwood Village, CO, Florida or Richmond, VA offices.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The electrical engineering I position will include the following key responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of senior engineers, develop electrical design documents and drawings
Perform simple electrical calculations, including voltage drop, conduit fill, lighting, and grounding
Develop datasheets for electrical equipment, including motors, transformers, VFDs, UPS
Develop specifications for electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, MCCs
Support in development of electrical drawings, including one-line drawings, electrical schematics, electrical equipment layout, hazardous area classification, and grounding layout
Candidate shall have excellent communication skills and technical writing skills
Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality
Travel to client project sites to support field walk-downs and as-built efforts REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Zero (0) - Four (4) years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in energy, oil and gas, or other industrial process industries.
Experience developingone-line drawings,control schematics, and wiring diagrams,electrical equipment specifications, power plans,conduit plans, cable schedules,etc.
Working knowledge of technical Codes and Standards:
NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, etc.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Excel & Word
Familiarity with AutoCAD, REVIT, or other design software
Strong GPA of 3.0 or higher is strongly preferred
A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited college is required
