Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our product development team in Wisconsin. This role will focus on electrical system design, harness development, PLC programming, troubleshooting, and supporting new product development initiatives for heavy equipment and industrial applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in electrical engineering along with hands-on experience in diagnostics, controls, and manufacturing support. Key Responsibilities Lead and collaborate with cross-functional product development teams to design and develop new products aligned with customer equipment roadmaps. Develop and maintain detailed electrical specifications, schematics, and design documentation. Design and troubleshoot electrical harnesses, DC circuits, and power distribution systems. Perform 12V and 24V DC circuit analysis along with low/medium voltage AC system understanding. Program and support PLC systems using platforms such as CodeSYS and IQAN. Conduct product testing and validation to ensure compliance with design intent, regulatory standards, and customer specifications. Collaborate with marketing teams and participate in Voice of Customer (VOC) meetings to identify product requirements and improvements. Work closely with operations and suppliers to improve quality, manufacturability, scheduling, and reduce product costs. Support field service teams by diagnosing and resolving product-related issues in a timely manner. Travel to customer work sites when necessary for on-site diagnostics and troubleshooting. Ensure compliance with engineering standards, ISO requirements, and internal development processes. Participate in trade shows, product launches, customer demonstrations, and technical training activities. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing warranty claims, rework, and product issues. Create innovative and cost-effective electrical designs with strong manufacturability considerations. Required Skills & Qualifications Strong knowledge of: Electrical harness design Electrical schematic design DC circuit troubleshooting and analysis 12V and 24V electrical systems Low/medium voltage AC systems and controls Experience with PLC programming tools such as: CodeSYS IQAN
Proficiency with CAD tools: SolidWorks SolidWorks Electrical AutoCAD Hands-on experience with engine diagnostics, drivetrain, driveline systems, and diesel engines. Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic control systems. Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, preferably JD Edwards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. High level of accountability and commitment to project timelines and quality standards. Preferred Qualifications Experience in heavy equipment, off-highway vehicles, or industrial machinery industries. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and product lifecycle development. Exposure to regulatory and ISO compliance standards. Education Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred. Work Environment Fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment. Occasional travel to customer sites, trade shows, and supplier locations may be required. Why Join Us?
