Job Title:
Electrical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to develop the basis of design and coordinate electrical elements in support of process design. This role involves directing the design team for the preparation of drawings and specifications, as well as supporting construction phase services. The position offers the opportunity to provide electrical engineering support for a broad range of projects, particularly those related to municipal infrastructure, such as water and wastewater treatment facilities. Responsibilities Develop the basis of design and coordinate electrical elements. Direct the design team in preparing drawings and specifications. Support construction phase services. Provide support on infrastructure projects for municipal services, including water and wastewater treatment facilities. Essential Skills Proficiency in electrical engineering, particularly 480v and 120 volt design. Experience with electrical design and Autocad. Understanding of low voltage, wiring diagrams, and EIT. Knowledge in industrial distribution, controls systems, PLC programming, conduit, feeder, single-line diagram, PLC control panels, pumps, fans, compressors, MCCs, and switchgear. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. 2+ years of experience in the field. EIT certification, eligible to sit for the PE exam. Familiarity with controls systems and experience in industrial, large-scale commercial, manufacturing, and municipal projects. Expertise in low and medium voltage industrial distribution and preparation of electrical schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and single line drawings. Firm working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NFPA 70) including Article 500-Hazardous (Classified) Locations. Work Environment Our Client is a well-established civil/environmental engineering and surveying firm based in St. Louis, Illinois. With a history in water/wastewater engineering, the firm has expanded its services to include civil/site, watershed resources, and utility infrastructure rehabilitation. The company serves over 80 municipalities in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. The office environment is welcoming, with a layout that includes a kitchen, gym, and an outdoor area for lunches and BBQs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Geneva, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr.
