$120,000•$150,000 per year Job Details•In this role, you will: Evaluate project requirements, break down tasks, and collaborate with the design team to define scope, budget, and staffing needs. Develop electrical design scopes based on preliminary reviews and client meetings. Conduct engineering studies and create schematic designs for new systems, as well as analyze and evaluate the performance of existing systems. Clearly communicate complex engineering analyses to clients, owners, and design teams. Document existing conditions, perform detailed troubleshooting, and resolve complex challenges such as conflicting design requirements, code compliance issues, and difficult site constraints. Research unique or ambiguous code issues and coordinate with code officials to obtain interpretations. Create system schematics and sketches for advanced design solutions. Prepare engineering cost estimates for electrical systems and review contractor estimates for accuracy. Perform detailed calculations for electrical systems, including whole building load analysis, lighting and power distribution, equipment sizing, and contribute to specifications and punch lists. Review design documents to ensure they meet company and industry standards. Build and maintain a strong understanding of construction processes and delivery methods. Support the growth and development of junior design staff by serving as a technical resource and mentor. What you'll need to succeed in this role: 15+ years of experience leading electrical design for corporate, higher education, or performing arts projects Proven background with an MEP engineering firm or integrated A/E firm, specializing in electrical design Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering Active professional engineering license (PE) In-depth knowledge of NFPA codes and applicable local, state, and federal regulations Familiarity with IECC, LEED, and ASHRAE standards and their application to sustainable design Proficiency in Revit for electrical design documentation Experience with electrical analysis tools such as SKM and EasyPower Awareness of current sustainable technologies relevant to commercial electrical system design A bit about us:•As an award-winning, integrated architecture, engineering, and planning firm, we are seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to lead and manage large-scale projects and electrical teams both locally and across the country.
