10 paid holidays annually Position Summary The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing electric motor control systems for overhead cranes and hoists, including the application and specification of magnetic motor starters, relays, and AC inverters. This role supports all phases of engineering and product development activities related to product design, production drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and programming. Primary Responsibilities Perform calculations for wire sizing and overload protection for crane systems operating up to 800 volts DC and up to 4160 volts AC, based on schematics and customer specifications while adhering to applicable electrical codes and internal engineering standards. Collaborate with engineers, service technicians, and cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve manufacturing issues in both shop and field environments. Research problems, develop solutions, and communicate findings effectively to all relevant personnel. Prepare single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and interconnect drawings using schematics and customer-provided information. Select, size, and specify purchased components and develop bills of materials by reviewing engineering standards, vendor documentation, and technical product knowledge. Serve as a technical lead on assigned projects, providing daily guidance and supervision to drafters and layout designers. Coordinate with project managers to establish work requirements, maintain release schedules, and review daily project activities. Recommend and support design improvements that enhance functionality and reduce overall costs. Update and improve existing circuit designs to address field issues, material obsolescence, or evolving customer and management requirements. Design electrical control systems for motors, drives, and related equipment by applying product knowledge, relevant electrical codes, clearance requirements, and collaboration with mechanical engineering and manufacturing teams. Develop connection diagrams, cable layouts, and general arrangement drawings using engineering standards and applicable code requirements. Travel to project sites as needed to attend meetings or troubleshoot major control system issues. Develop PLC programs and HMI interface screens for crane applications. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering and drafting, including proficiency with Auto
CAD 2016.
Hands-on experience in PLC and HMI programming, as well as setup and commissioning of variable frequency drives. Experience with Rockwell and Siemens PLC/VFD programming preferred. Strong working knowledge of the NEC electrical code and its practical application.
Pay:
$76,000.00 - $900,000.00 per year
