Job Description

Job Summary 2G Engineering designs and manufactures advanced motor drives, servo systems, battery systems, and power supplies. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in control theory and power electronics design to join our team. The Electrical Engineer will design and develop digital and analog circuitry for high performance power electronics systems. This role involves schematic capture, circuit simulation, collaboration on PCB layout, prototyping, testing, and system validation. The engineer will work closely with software, mechanical, and production teams to bring products from concept through production. This position also supports customers during sales engagements, product development cycles, and post delivery technical support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design and analyze digital and analog electrical circuits. Design power electronics for motor drives and power supplies operating in the 50 W to 100 kW range. Develop schematics and collaborate with PCB layout engineers or perform PCB layout as required. Develop prototypes and perform system testing and validation. Work closely with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to integrate electrical systems into finished products. Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of electrical systems. Prepare engineering documentation including reports, specifications, calculations, and design notes. Assist with project planning by estimating engineering labor, materials, and development costs. Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal and customer use. Required Education and Experience Master's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred. Equivalent professional experience will be considered. Minimum of 4 years of experience in power electronics design. Experience designing systems operating in the 400 V to 800 V DC range is preferred. Working knowledge of circuit boards, processors, integrated circuits, and electronic test equipment. Experience using circuit simulation software such as SPICE or PLECS. Previous related experience through internships or professional employment is preferred. Preferred Technical Experience Experience working with microcontrollers. Experience with DSP or FPGA based systems. Experience working with wide band gap semiconductors such as silicon carbide or gallium nitride. Experience designing for EMI and EMC compliance. Experience developing systems that integrate power electronics, embedded control, and electromechanical components. Desired Skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills including knowledge of mathematics such as algebra, calculus, and statistics. Ability to diagnose and determine root causes of electrical faults. Ability to plan and manage engineering tasks effectively. Ability to develop tools or scripts to support engineering workflows when needed. Strong documentation skills including the ability to clearly describe system behavior and design decisions. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a small, fast paced engineering environment. High attention to detail and professional work habits.
Pay:
$93,881.57 - $140,000.00 per year
