Job Description

Description:
The Electrical & Controls Engineer will be the lead for technical support of the plant electrical and control systems and programs. The Electrical & Controls Engineer will report to the Manager of Business & Technical Services. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Monitor, investigate, troubleshoot, collect data, analyze, test, make recommendations, and prepare reports on the performance of station processes, equipment, control systems, and communication networks. This work can include interpreting and analyzing system data and reports; redesigning equipment and systems to rectify issues; preparing recommendations for process operation, maintenance, or equipment modifications. Develop, implement, and manage plans and activities to comply with Omnis Pleasants and regulatory compliance programs. Provide technical support to the Operations, Electrical, and I&C departments. Provide technical support coverage for unit and equipment outages/startups (including off shifts).
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline (Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred). Must possess strong analytical troubleshooting skills. Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to analyze data, write technical reports, develop recommendations, and present reports to plant management. Must possess competency with basic personal computer software, including Microsoft Windows 11, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. Must be able to quickly learn new software applications. Must be able to effectively manage multiple concurrent assignments. Must possess the ability to safely use all tools and equipment associated with instrumentation and controls maintenance and calibration (meters, basic hand tools, signal generators, etc.) Must possess the ability to use technical manuals, instructions, and prints/drawings for system troubleshooting and repair. Must be willing to accept callouts (including off shifts) and work overtime as needed or directed. Work experience in power plant systems desirable but not required. Experience with Siemens PLC, Allen Bradley PLC, and Emerson Ovation DCS equipment is desirable but not required. Experience in computer programming and database management is desirable but not required. Experience in electrical power distribution equipment operation and maintenance, and good working knowledge of power plant process systems is desirable but not required.
