Controls Engineer (Junior to Mid-level)

65k-80k DOE maxPosition OverviewWe are seeking a motivated Jr. Controls Engineer to support the design, implementation, and commissioning of industrial control systems. The role focuses on
PLC, HMI, SCADA
development, instrumentation and electrical design, and troubleshooting for manufacturing and automation projects. The ideal candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, safe, and efficient automation solutions.

This is a more Junior-level role with room to grow!

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, program, and configure PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems for new and retrofit projects (Allen-Bradley and Siemens preferred).Design and review electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using CAD tools.

Specify, select, and integrate field instrumentation and sensors; develop I/O lists and loop diagrams.

Implement and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols, including Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, and Profibus.

Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), commissioning, and start-up activities; diagnose and resolve control system issues on-site.

Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to ensure seamless integration of automation and robotic systems in manufacturing environments.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.2+ years of hands-on experience in controls engineering, industrial automation, or instrumentation within manufacturing or robotics environments.

Experience programming and commissioning PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems; familiarity with Allen-Bradley and Siemen platforms.

Some experience with electrical design and CAD tools for control panel layouts and schematics.

Working knowledge of field instrumentation, signal conditioning, and control loop tuning.

Familiarity with common industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet).
