Job Description

Gauthier, Alvarado & Associates was founded in 1975 on the strength of a single idea. We are committed to producing the most technically advanced environments possible within budget, schedule, and especially within the understanding of the user's ability to control those technologies. We provide Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical engineering for a variety of projects that include commercial office buildings, educational facilities, public agencies, and interior tenant build-outs. GAA is seeking an Electrical Clerk with experience in developing construction documents for power, lighting, fire alarm, security and telecommunications systems for educational, government, and commercial facilities. The responsibilities of the candidate will include: Preparation of studies, electrical evaluations, design, preparation of construction documents, and construction administration services. Preparing estimates and budgets. Creating accurate project specifications. Creating technical reports for customers. Completing regulatory documents concerning safety issues.
REQUIREMENTS
Good communication and writing skills are a must. We are interested in candidates who are self-motivated, posses a great attitude and who will fit in as a vital member of our firm working closely with our in-house architects and structural, mechanical and plumbing engineers. Candidates must be well-organized, clear communicators, Microsoft Word and Excel. Candidate must have hands-on experience with construction documents, writing specifications, and understanding building codes. Bachelor's degree in Architectural or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. Minimum 2 years' experience in electrical design for commercial, educational and public facility projects. Experience with design and analysis of electrical power distribution systems, lighting, telecommunications and fire alarm systems. Construction observation experience. Working knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry design standards.
