Job Description
Overview Kimley-Horn's Renewable Energy team is growing! We are looking for a motivated Civil Design Technician with 1+ years of experience in the Renewable Energy or Solar sector to join our Orange, CA office. This position will support engineering and design efforts for various renewable energy projects, including solar farms, wind farms, battery storage facilities, and other sustainable infrastructure. Responsibilities Assist in the production and modification of 3D and 2D design drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar software. Design and analyze grading plans, stormwater systems, erosion control measures, and site layout for renewable energy projects. Collaborate with cross-discipline project teams and coordinate with civil engineers to ensure designs meet client and regulatory standards. Work on feasibility studies, permitting exhibits, and construction plans for renewable energy developments. Adhere to deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality in deliverables. Qualifications 1+ years of experience in civil design, preferably in the solar, wind, or renewable energy sector . Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D , and other design software tools. Strong skills in technical drafting, grading plans, drainage design, and construction drawings. Familiarity with renewable energy project site constraints (e.g., geotechnical, hydrology, environmental, permitting). Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
Salary Range:
