Job Description
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Prepare complex new drawings and perform drawing changes consistent with company and nationally recognized procedures and standards. This will include 2D line work and 3D modeling. Assist in the determination of drawing elements, i.e., dimensions, part/component selection, tolerance, and design and process parameters. Evaluate design input from project engineers while working with design engineers. Make required mathematical calculations (i.e., geometric, tolerance stack-up calculations). Work with design engineers to specify parts, assemblies, and installation. May contribute design modification ideas to improve the quality of the product or facilitate construction/fabrication. Provide field/as-built documentation support. Maintain a working knowledge of Inventor, Vault, and other modeling software. Occasionally collaborate with professionals outside of the home organization. Report progress appropriately to project and line management as required. Perform other duties as assigned.Required:
Level 2: High School diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 2 years of direct working experience. Level 3: High School diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 4 years of direct working experience. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship. The ideal candidate will possess: Associate's degree in Drafting from an accredited institution.Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field environment, which may include construction sites. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds with assistance. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. May be exposed to discomforts associated with constant monitoring of computer video display screens. Intermittent exposure to stress as a result of human behavior and various responsibilities.Working Conditions:
The work environment includes an office and field environment. The field environment may include exposure to adverse weather conditions and working in high traffic areas. The noise level is generally moderate.Job Information:
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Drafter to work on our Nuclear Science and Technology Drafting team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Research and Education Campus in Idaho Falls with every other Friday off. The pay range for this position is: Level 2 ($22.93 - $37.82) / Level 3 ($26.36 - $43.48). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.Multi-Level:
