Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Designer 3 for a contract opportunity in Avondale, LA
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
):
  • Associate's degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years experience.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
  • Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA.
  • Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.
  • Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
  • Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
(DESIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
):
  • The ideal candidate is highly proficient in electrical and cableway design modeling and drawing extraction, with experience in developing and reviewing electrical products to ensure compliance with design standards and integration requirements.
  • They possess a strong understanding of electrical system layout principles, including equipment placement, routing strategies, and space optimization.
  • The candidate demonstrates exceptional problem-solving skills, thrives in collaborative team environments, and communicates technical information clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Associate's degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline.
WORK HOURS
Full-Time 5/40, workweek 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift.
