Summary This role supports electrical and instrumentation projects at our client sites by coordinating project scope, design details, and field activities with the Project Manager and project team, applying electrical and instrumentation design principles to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant project execution. Key responsibilities include verifying and updating drawings in AutoCAD and MicroStation, maintaining accurate as-built documentation, assisting with construction estimates and startup support, and resolving field issues related to

systems while working closely with Operations, Maintenance, HS&E, Automation, and Engineering to support successful commissioning and project closure.
Essential Functions:
Identify and communicate project scope, specifications, and design criteria upon assignment to a project. Participate in development and planning meetings for assigned projects. Coordinate work activities with other project team members and the Project Manager. Determine construction quantities and provide construction cost estimates. Work with construction contractors, Capital Engineer, and Capital Project Manager to handle field issues that may arise during project implementation with proper procedures and documentation, with emphasis on
DCS/SCADA.
Responsible for maintaining a set of accurate as-built and construction-in-progress documentation to ensure proper project closures. Perform field verification, redlining, and updating of existing drawings in AutoCAD and MicroStation. Update existing drawings utilizing redlines by others in AutoCAD and MicroStation. Serve as liaison between Operations, Maintenance, HS&E, Automation, outside contractors, and the Capital Project Manager. Coordinate design with plant and Capital Engineering SMEs from estimate through all design stages. Provide on-site assistance to the Commissioning/Start-Up team during startup of projects, including troubleshooting assistance in the plant. Understand and follow company, industry, and government codes, practices, regulations, and standards, and acquire and maintain all licenses and certificates pertinent to the role. Follow and complete internal and external training sessions as assigned by the supervisor and assist in supporting other crew members in I&E skills and tasks. Work with construction contractors, Capital Engineer, and Capital Project Manager to handle field issues that may arise during project implementation with proper procedures and documentation, with emphasis on DCS/SCADA, and to ensure E/I scope is executed in accordance with approved scope, drawings, and specifications. Assist contractors in obtaining required site safety permits and ensure compliance with all permit conditions during field execution. Lead or support E/I cutover activities by coordinating loop checks, maintaining loop check progress records, and ensuring documentation is complete for commissioning and project closure. Assist in building and maintaining
DCS/SCADA
tag databases (Excel or similar) from existing Foxboro DCS and PLC systems to support conversion to Honeywell Experion or similar control platforms. Perform other tasks as assigned or directed by the Orion manager and Client representative. Skills & Qualifications Preferred candidates will have a history of successful work experience and job assignments at refinery or chemical operating units. Familiarity with software used in plant operations, like SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation for E/I drawings is preferred. Be prepared for on-call assignments, which may include overtime and off-hours work requests, demonstrating flexibility and reliability. Possesses strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with colleagues and management, fostering a positive work environment. Must demonstrate a personal commitment to Incident and Injury Free Operations with a proven track record in Safety and Reliability. This is a safety-sensitive role. Must be able to work on assignment without sponsorship and at client location. This role will be working for Orion Engineers and Constructors at client location. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability to read, understand and interpret prints/drawings and other technical documents. Ability to use most inspection tools, measuring and test equipment. Ability to read and understand policies, procedures, and processes. Must have valid driver's license and suitable driving record that is able to meet company driver requirements as may be required to obtain a TWIC. Commitment to high quality. Must be prompt, dependable and maintain a good attendance record. Must be able to pass an approved background check. Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test. Must participate in random drug tests. Education & Experience Associate's, Technical Degree, or equivalent combination of education required. Minimum of 5+ years of field and/or design experience in Industrial required. Work Environment & Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Work assignment inside an operating plant which requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboard.
Must be able to bend, stoop and climb on a ladder or up and down stairs. Must be able to drive a company vehicle to and from job sites or office locations. Must be able to attend job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility in a hot climate. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
