PLC Programmer Engineer (Job Code: 1007)

Responsible for designing wiring diagrams (WDs) using AutoCAD, and modify existing WD files to incorporate additional equipment; design and develop PLC and HMI software for production systems, ensuring safety, functionality, and reliability in compliance with customer and industry standards; assist with installation oversight, and with the integration and commissioning of devices; set up IP addresses, debug and integrate automated assembly lines for Body-in-White (BIW) operations, including robot coordination, tool control, and system-to-system interlock validation; perform firmware updates to a variety of devices, and test and modify existing PLC and HMI programs to improve performance; reduce cycle time, and provide launch and standby support for handoff from service to customer; utilize Fanuc Robots, Comau Robots, FactoryTalk View, Allen Bradley PLC, AutoCAD in programming, debugging, and integration throughout all project phases; perform start-up and debug at customers' facilities, diagnosing and troubleshooting automated manufacturing cells, programming new products into existing cells, interfacing with customers to address their needs, and enhancing reliability and performance of production equipment; and responsible for cycle time improvements, sequence adjustments such as clamping when in a geo station, look ahead logic specific to the line requirements, safety features required by customer standard.

Salary:

$85,300 per year;

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

Experience:

One (1) year in the position above, as a Mechatronics Engineer, as a PLC Programmer, as a Robot Programmer, or in a related occupation;
