Job Purpose:
The CNC Controls Programming Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting CNC control system software on CNC-based equipment. This role focuses on creating reliable, user-friendly machine control programs that support the integration of PLC, HMI, motion, and CNC control systems. Experience with
FANUC CNC
controls and CNC programming is required.
Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.1. Setup of CNC controls, including setting parameters for motors, drives, and I/O configuration.2. Develop, write, and troubleshoot PMC/PLC, HMI, CNC, and motion control programs for new machines and retrofit packages.3. Install, test, and validate software on production floor and occasionally at customer sites.4. Program and configure
FANUC CNC
controls, including ladder logic, PMC, macro programming, and servo/motion parameters.5. Develop HMI screens and user interfaces for machine operation.6. Collaborate with the mechanical and electrical engineering to ensure full system integration.7. Create documentation, including electrical schematics, machine manual sections for controls, and troubleshooting guides.8. Provide technical support, diagnostics, and corrective actions for internal teams and customers.9. Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry requirements, and best practices.10. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent technical experience.2. 2+ years of experience programming industrial controls for CNC systems.3. Strong aptitude in ladder logic programming.4. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.5. Technical writing experience highly recommended.6. Proficient troubleshooting skills, including root-cause analysis of electrical and software issues.7. Applied mathematical skills and mechanical analysis ability.8.
