Chipton-Ross is seeking a Designer 3 for a contract opportunity in Pascagoula, MS.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
):
o Associate's degree or other 2-year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years' experience. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as AutoCAD. Gathers information, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. A qualified candidate should be proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel. In addition, the designer should fully understand electrical diagrams, deck plans, wiring diagrams, and electrical terminations. The designer must also be able to produce electrical design modifications with little guidance. Knowledge of drafting procedures and materials, shipbuilding materials, elementary electrical circuits, electronic system principals, and design of electrical equipment and systems is required. (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
o Three years of related experience in power, controls, IC or combat systems design. Associate degree in engineering design related field is preferred. REQUIRED EDUCATION
