Job Description

Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Technician Advantic Building Group Miamisburg, OH 45342 Full-time Full-time Advantic Building Group is a design-build structural solutions company focused on building smarter, lighter, and more efficient infrastructure. We design, fabricate, and install systems using Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) — a high-performance material that helps our partners move faster, build safer, and reduce long-term impact across mission-critical and industrial environments. But what truly sets Advantic apart isn't just what we build — it's how we work and who we work with. We value individuals who are curious, accountable, and willing to lean in when things get challenging. At Advantic, culture isn't a poster on the wall — it's lived out every day in how we collaborate, problem-solve, and support one another. If you're looking for a place where your voice matters, your work has impact, and your growth is encouraged, you'll feel at home here. The Virtual Design Construction (VDC) Technician supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects through the development and management of digital models, construction drawings, and project visualization tools. This role serves as a critical link between design, fabrication, and field execution by leveraging BIM/VDC technologies to improve coordination, constructability, and project efficiency throughout all phases of construction. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and update BIM/VDC models to support project coordination, fabrication, and field installation activities. Create and revise construction drawings, shop drawings, layouts, and model-based deliverables using industry-standard software platforms. Collaborate with engineering, project management, fabrication, and field teams to identify and resolve design conflicts prior to construction activities. Participate in internal and external coordination meetings with project stakeholders, subcontractors, and clients to support successful project execution. Review contract documents, specifications, and project requirements to ensure alignment between design intent and project deliverables. Perform clash detection and constructability reviews to improve project sequencing, coordination, and overall efficiency. Support field operations through model navigation assistance, layout coordination, and technical drawing interpretation as needed. Maintain organized digital project documentation, revision management, and version control throughout the project lifecycle. Assist in the development and continuous improvement of VDC standards, workflows, and best practices. Qualifications Associate's degree or technical certification in Construction Technology, Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in

Experience supporting commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or design-build construction projects preferred. Proficiency in BIM/VDC software platforms such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or similar applications. Working knowledge of construction documents, coordination processes, and construction sequencing. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and fabrication drawings. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Microsoft application fluency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting prefabrication, modular construction, or mission-critical/data center projects. Familiarity with point cloud scanning, laser layout technology, or reality capture tools. Exposure to FRP systems, structural coordination, or industrial construction environments. Experience working within a design-build or self-perform construction environment. Physical demands While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively through speaking and listening. The role typically involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift or move objects up to 15 pounds. Advantic Building Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
