Job Description
Lead Electrical Designer - Power Generation (MicroStation 3D) Join a leading infrastructure team supporting power generation projects that help clients navigate a changing energy landscape. This role is focused on 3D electrical physical design for large-scale power generation facilities, delivering high-quality, constructable designs from early planning through detailed engineering and EPC execution. What You'll Do Lead electrical physical design for power generation projects from concept through issue-for-construction (IFC) deliverables. Develop and maintain 2D/3D design deliverables in MicroStation, including: cable tray layout and routing duct bank and underground electrical routing raceway, conduit and trench design plans, sections, details and model-based documentation Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical and project teams to support quality, constructability and schedule alignment. Apply design standards and quality review processes to ensure accurate, complete deliverables. Provide technical guidance to designers and technicians and support continuous improvement in design workflows and digital execution. What You'll Bring Proven experience as an Electrical Designer supporting power generation / power plant projects. Strong hands-on experience with MicroStation, including 3D modeling and drawing production. Experience producing electrical physical design deliverables for cable tray, duct bank, raceway and conduit systems. Strong collaboration skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality. Preferred Qualifications Experience in an EPC environment. Experience supporting large, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. Experience developing or reviewing IFC packages. Work Environment You'll work in a collaborative digital design environment centered on MicroStation and 3D execution, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality, and dependable power infrastructure solutions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ann Arbor, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
