Electrical Engineer - Building Engineering 📍 Charlotte, NC Overview We are growing and excited to add an Electrical Engineer to our Building Engineering team in Charlotte, NC. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer who's eager to build a strong foundation in building systems design while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment. Our Building Engineering Division delivers comprehensive services including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering , supporting projects from initial concept through construction. You'll gain hands-on exposure to a variety of project types, including new construction, renovations, and design/build projects across diverse industries. What You'll Do As an Electrical Engineer, you'll work closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to support the design and execution of building systems.
Responsibilities include:
Assist with electrical system design , including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems Support development of construction drawings, specifications, and engineering reports Utilize tools such as AutoCAD and Revit to produce design documentation Participate in field visits and site inspections to understand real-world applications Collaborate with mechanical, plumbing, and structural teams on integrated project delivery Assist with design analysis and calculations to evaluate options and optimize solutions Support project teams in maintaining schedules and delivering high-quality work What We're Looking For We're seeking someone who is motivated, curious, and eager to grow within an A/E consulting environment: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) Internship, co-op, or academic project experience in electrical design preferred Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit Basic understanding of electrical systems and NEC codes is a plus Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities Interest in pursuing a Professional Engineer (PE) license over time Why Join Us?
