Job Title:
Job Designer Job Description The Job Designer supports the planning and delivery of design and construction projects by producing accurate drawings, models, and construction documents using Revit, AutoCAD, and related BIM/VDC tools. This role interprets plans and specifications, collaborates with project teams, and applies strong problem-solving and organizational skills to deliver high-quality design work. The position offers long-term growth, exposure to leading projects in the Northwest, and ongoing development in Revit and BIM technologies. Responsibilities Read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents to produce accurate design and drafting work. Create, modify, and maintain models and drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, and other BIM/VDC software tools. Support the development and coordination of construction documents, ensuring alignment with project requirements and standards. Apply independent judgment and critical thinking to solve design and coordination problems as they arise. Prioritize personal workload effectively, recognize priority conflicts, and seek guidance when needed to resolve them. Collaborate closely with project team members in a team-oriented environment to support project goals and deadlines. Communicate clearly in written and verbal English with coworkers and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues. Use strong organizational and computer skills to manage design files, documentation, and project-related information. Work independently on assigned tasks, make decisions within defined parameters, and follow through on all assignments to completion. Utilize BIM/VDC technologies and related software to support modeling, coordination, and documentation workflows. Apply a general understanding of interoperability between design and construction software to accomplish discipline-specific tasks. Demonstrate safe work practices by reading, interpreting, and following safety documentation and guidelines. Travel locally as needed using a personal vehicle, maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record. Essential Skills Ability to read and understand plans and specifications. Effective written and verbal English communication skills. Ability to use independent judgment, solve problems, self-start, and prioritize based on relevant factors. Ability to prioritize personal workload, recognize priority conflicts, and seek guidance for resolution. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to multitask, think critically, and problem-solve. Ability to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on all assignments. Strong organizational skills and proficient computer use. High level of competency to read, write, and speak English, interpret safety documentation, and communicate with coworkers. Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Must possess a high school diploma and/or GED. Completion of a degree or certificate in CAD technology or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience actively using design software in a design or construction firm, with demonstrable working knowledge. Basic knowledge of Autodesk Revit. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Revit for architectural, structural, and construction document drafting and modeling. Familiarity with BIM processes and BIM-360 Collaboration Products (Docs, Glue, Design, Coordinate, Field, etc.). Experience with AGACAD, MWF, or other related Revit add-ins. Proficiency with Bluebeam and Bluebeam Studio for document review and markup. Experience with AutoCAD for drafting and layout. Experience with SketchUp for 3D modeling. Familiarity with Procore, BOX, Dropbox, SharePoint, and similar project management or file-sharing software. General understanding of interoperability between software used to accomplish discipline-specific tasks. Familiarity with cold-formed steel construction. Interest in long-term professional growth and development in Revit and BIM technologies. Work Environment This is an onsite role requiring the ability to work 40 hours per week in the office. You will work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment on some of the most notable projects in the Northwest, using a variety of design and BIM/VDC tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, BIM-360, Bluebeam, and related software. The setting is professional and technology-focused, with an emphasis on continuous learning, long-term growth, and development in Revit and BIM. The work involves typical office-based design and coordination tasks, using computers and standard office software throughout the day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
