Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate electrical design efforts for power generation facilities Develop and review 2D and 3D electrical deliverables , including: Duct bank design Cable tray and routing layouts Grounding systems Lighting systems (interior/exterior) Electrical equipment modeling Apply advanced electrical design knowledge to solve complex technical challenges Ensure deliverables meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations Use Bentley MicroStation and related Bentley tools to create and maintain design documentation Support lighting calculations and illumination modeling ( AGI32 experience preferred ) Collaborate across disciplines and departments to align design intent with construction needs Provide technical guidance and mentorship to technicians and support staff Support project execution with awareness of budgets, schedules, and client priorities What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Associate degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology 15+ years of relevant electrical design experience Power generation industry experience (required) Strong experience with: Bentley MicroStation 3D modeling of electrical equipment Duct bank, cable tray, grounding, and lighting system design Ability to work onsite at one of the listed office locations Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Design‑related field Experience with AGI32 for lighting analysis (preferred, not required) Lead or supervisory experience guiding other designers or technicians Ideal Candidate Profile This role is ideal for a seasoned electrical design professional who: Wants to stay technical while stepping into a leadership role Values long‑term employment over short‑term contract work Enjoys collaborating on complex power generation projects Takes pride in high‑quality, constructible design deliverables If you're ready to bring your power generation design expertise to a firm that invests in its people, tools, and future—and where your work directly supports critical energy infrastructure—this role offers a rare combination of technical challenge, stability, and professional respect. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
