Job Description
Job Title:
Electrical Designer Bring complex power generation facilities to life through advanced 3D electrical design . This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting‑edge Advanced Power Generation (APG) projects , collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to design the electrical systems behind critical energy infrastructure. You'll play a hands‑on role in shaping power facilities through detailed 3D modeling and design , with a strong emphasis on Bentley MicroStation and related Bentley tools. As a VDDS Staff Engineering Technician , you'll lead the development of high‑quality 2D and 3D electrical deliverables , including duct banks, cable tray systems, grounding, and lighting layouts. Working with minimal supervision, you'll apply advanced electrical design knowledge while ensuring accuracy, constructability, and coordination across disciplines. Experience with AGI32 lighting design is a plus. What You'll Do Create and coordinate 3D electrical models and drawings using Bentley MicroStation Lead electrical design efforts across complex power generation projects Ensure technical quality, schedule adherence, and budget awareness Establish and enforce design standards and best practices Collaborate closely with engineering teams and guide junior designers Drive continuous improvement in design tools, workflows, and processes What You Bring Strong 3D design experience in Bentley MicroStation 10+ years of electrical design or engineering technology experience Deep understanding of power generation facility design Ability to lead, mentor, and coordinate across project teams Why This Role Stands Out You'll work on high‑impact infrastructure , use advanced 3D design tools , and take ownership of technically challenging projects—while helping shape the next generation of power systems. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Leawood, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr.
