Job Description
Senior Substation Designer (HV Utilities)OverviewA global engineering and design consultancy is seeking a Senior Substation Designer with hands‑on experience supporting high‑voltage (15kV-345kV) utility substation projects, including work related to renewable energy and data center interconnections. This role supports projects from conceptual design through final deliverables and includes technical leadership and mentoring responsibilities.
This position can be based in multiple West Coast or Texas offices, with hybrid / flexible working options available.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop 3D models and 2D drawings forHV substations, including:
Single-line diagramsPhysical substation layoutsConduit and cable plansGrounding grid layoutsLightning protection and yard lighting plansBills of materialsLead, coach, and mentor junior designers and CAD techniciansCoordinate with engineers and other disciplines to deliver fully integrated designsIncorporate engineering input, redlines, and client feedback into design packagesApply client specifications and
