This role is responsible for leading the design and development of process piping systems, equipment layouts, and clean utility systems for pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and advanced manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in high-purity piping design, 3D modeling, and BIM/VDC environments, along with a solid understanding of industry codes and construction practices. Key Responsibilities Design and develop process piping and equipment layouts for manufacturing facilities and laboratories. Create detailed 3D piping models and coordinate designs within a BIM/VDC environment. Develop and review piping isometric and orthographic drawings. Interpret and work from P&IDs, process flow diagrams, specifications, and equipment datasheets. Design high-purity process and clean utility systems in compliance with
ASME BPE
standards. Collaborate with engineering, project management, and construction teams to ensure constructability and project success. Conduct site visits for field verification, design validation, and construction support. Review and validate project drawings, models, and technical documentation. Provide technical support during construction, startup, and commissioning activities. Maintain knowledge of industry standards, codes, and emerging design technologies. Qualifications 6+ years of experience as a Process Mechanical Designer, Piping Designer, or related role. Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or advanced manufacturing facilities. Strong knowledge of
ASME BPE
standards and high-purity/clean utility piping systems. Proficiency in BIM/VDC environments and 3D modeling software. Experience producing piping isometrics and orthographic drawings. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and engineering specifications. Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred but not required. Willingness to travel regionally as needed. U.S. Citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with semiconductor manufacturing facilities. Knowledge of construction support, startup, and commissioning activities. Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks, or similar design software.
