Project Overview:

You will be joining the Bechtel Knoxville Execution Center. The Knoxville Execution Center provides engineering to our government projects as well as our commercial nuclear projects. Our services span from initial planning and investment, through start-up and operations.

Job Summary:

As a HVAC Layout Designer, you will support design development of facility layouts and piping & equipment in a 3D model using S3D. This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

Major Responsibilities:

3D modeling of HVAC Duct and equipment in S3D Preparation of drawings/documents for General Arrangements, HVAC orthographic drawings. Assists with coordination of 3D model activities, i.e. input, interference reconciliation, etc. Ensures compliance with approved PD&P design standards in own work and bythose assigned, to provide quality design. Ensures PD&P systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes,regulations, and standards Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings and design documentsprepared Interfaces with support engineers, construction, and suppliers during the preparation of 3D model and drawings for the purpose of model/space control, etc. Possesses responsibility for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and materialrequisitions for materials applicable to the discipline Works with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technicalrequirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 3-4 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Must be a US citizen. Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment, education and travel. Hands-on experience using SmartPlant S3D modeling platform (preferred) Understanding of the various HVAC system types, components, equipment and control systems.
