Electrical Designer - Industrial Power Systems /

Technical Leadership Position Overview Seeking a skilled Electrical Designer with experience in industrial power and high-reliability electrical infrastructure. This role is focused on the design, drafting, and coordination of power distribution and control systems supporting environments that require continuous and dependable operation. Projects may include large-scale industrial facilities, energy systems, and mission-critical infrastructure. Core Responsibilities Develop detailed electrical designs and drawings for low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems Create layouts, schematics, single-line diagrams, and panel designs using CAD tools Design electrical distribution systems including 34.5kV, 13.8kV, 480/277V, 415/240V, and 208/120V configurations Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to ensure proper system integration Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and design standards Assist in equipment selection and specification including switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, ATS, and motor control equipment Support development of construction documents and technical specifications in accordance with applicable codes and standards Incorporate feedback from engineering reviews and field conditions into design updates Assist with power system studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination, arc flash) by preparing models and documentation Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting efforts as needed Maintain accurate project documentation and drawing revisions Required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field 3+ years of experience in electrical design, drafting, or power systems support Experience with electrical distribution systems and industrial equipment Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar) Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, etc.) Familiarity with equipment such as switchgear, transformers, UPS, ATS, and switchboards Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate design documentation Effective communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with power system modeling tools such as ETAP or SKM Exposure to mission-critical or high-availability environments Understanding of protection systems and coordination principles Experience supporting projects through construction and commissioning phases Work Environment Combination of office-based design work and occasional field support Up to 20-30% travel for site visits, installation support, or commissioning activities To apply, send your resume to: PD@Libertyjobs.com Patrick DelGaone #LI-onsite #Utilities #Engineering #Midsenior #engjobs1776
