This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work at the cutting edge of restaurant automation technology. You will take full ownership of the controls design and PLC programming for an innovative prototype piece of automated kitchen equipment working directly alongside design engineers in a hands-on, fast-paced R D environment. If you are passionate about automation, love the challenge of building something from the ground up, and want to see your engineering work deployed at scale across tens of thousands of locations worldwide this role is for you. What You Will Be Doing Collaborate with design engineers to confirm selection of sensors, motors and electrical components Finalise control panel design from a standard architecture template and standardised component set Complete the electrical BOM and release for procurement Update and create wiring diagrams for the final control panel design Develop, test and debug ladder logic programming for sequence and control using an Automation Direct PLC (starting from a standard PLC template) Take full sole ownership of the controls design and PLC programming from start to finish
What We Are Looking For Essential:
5+ years of PLC ladder logic programming experience Ability to develop and implement a ladder logic program from scratch Experience integrating and programming stepper motors, gantry or motion systems and sensors Ability to wire and troubleshoot control panels and devices (120VAC and low voltage) Ability to read, modify and create wiring diagrams Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills Hands-on, self-starter mentality — comfortable taking full ownership of a project Passionate about automation and innovation
Preferred:
Automation Direct PLC experience (ProductivitySuite software / ladder logic) Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley hardware and Studio 5000 familiarity Experience with recipe management, data management, remote data logging or MQTT protocol Background in food service, restaurant, or consumer product automation Experience in commissioning, system bring-up or on-site validation Knowledge of
ANSI / CE
/ TUV or UL standards Basic safety system or safety relay knowledge
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or a related technical field preferred Equivalent experience considered

Friday Contract:
Long Term W2 contract
Hours:
40 hours per week — overtime optionally available based on project needs
Travel:
