Position Overview A rapidly expanding commercial plumbing contractor in Texas is seeking a detail-oriented and technically capable Plumbing BIM & Design Coordination Specialist to assist with virtual construction planning, drafting support, and project document management for commercial plumbing projects. This position supports the development and coordination of plumbing system models, drawing revisions, clash analysis, and construction documentation while working closely with project teams to promote accurate design coordination and efficient installation throughout the construction process. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and able to work effectively with project managers, engineers, field personnel, and subcontractors in a collaborative construction environment. Key Responsibilities Assist Project Managers, field supervisors, and coordination personnel with BIM processes and plumbing drawing management Create, maintain, and revise plumbing BIM models and CAD drawings for commercial construction projects Produce plumbing system layouts, riser schematics, sleeve details, coordination drawings, and installation plans Support cross-disciplinary coordination between plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and structural trades Attend coordination meetings to discuss design issues, routing conflicts, constructability concerns, and project progress Generate and modify shop drawings, fabrication documents, and technical construction records Revise models and drawings based on RFIs, design modifications, coordination feedback, and field conditions Monitor drawing revisions, coordination markups, and project document updates Gather field data and assist in preparing as-built drawings and project closeout documentation Coordinate pipe routing, elevations, and clearance requirements to improve installation efficiency Provide drafting and modeling assistance for estimating, preconstruction, and planning activities when needed Work with field teams to verify that drawings accurately reflect installation requirements and project objectives Maintain organized BIM databases, CAD files, and electronic project records Support additional design coordination and technical project tasks as assigned Qualifications Experience with BIM modeling, CAD drafting, and construction document development Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or comparable BIM/VDC software applications Knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and construction coordination practices Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings Experience with clash analysis and interdisciplinary coordination preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Experience creating shop drawings, RFIs, coordination documents, and as-built drawings preferred Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively with office staff, subcontractors, and field operations personnel Valid driver's license preferred with a satisfactory driving record Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required Associate degree, technical certification, or related coursework in BIM Technology, CAD Drafting, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a similar discipline preferred Minimum 3 years of experience in BIM modeling, CAD design, VDC support, or construction drafting preferred Previous experience in commercial plumbing, MEP coordination, or commercial construction environments strongly preferred Core Competencies BIM Modeling & Coordination Plumbing Design & Drafting Support Construction Documentation Control Interdisciplinary Trade Coordination Blueprint & Technical Drawing Interpretation Technical Analysis & Problem Resolution Project Organization & Document Management Team Collaboration Office & Field Communication Benefits 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage Paid vacation, holidays, and personal leave Performance-based bonus opportunities and recognition programs Ongoing technical training and professional development Career growth opportunities within the commercial construction sector At Colleague, we provide a fair and equal employment opportunity for all candidates regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, age, marital status, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic.
