Permian Basin (Midland, Pecos, and surrounding rural areas) About Skillpoint Alliance Skillpoint Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization delivering accelerated workforce training to individuals facing barriers to employment, including veterans, justice-involved individuals, low-income adults, and those seeking a new career pathway.
Our mission is simple:
expand access to opportunity and build strong career pathways into the skilled trades. Position Overview Skillpoint Alliance is seeking a skilled electrical professional to lead instruction for our Pre-Apprentice Electrical program. We welcome candidates from licensed electrician backgrounds as well as professionals with engineering, automation, or electrical systems experience who bring a passion for teaching and workforce development. This role combines technical instruction, hands-on lab facilitation, and student mentorship. The ideal candidate is confident in a lab environment, committed to safety, and motivated to prepare students for entry into the electrical trade.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, with two evenings per week as needed. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction using established curriculum Facilitate lab-based learning, including wiring devices and conduit bending (Greenlee standards) Maintain a safe, organized classroom and lab environment Prepare materials and manage equipment for daily instruction Support and mentor students in both technical and professional skill development Collaborate with program staff to ensure student progress and completion Maintain confidentiality of participant information Stay current with electrical code updates and industry trends Required Qualifications Journey-level electrician license or Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, electrical technology, automation, or a closely related field with relevant industry experience Demonstrated ability to teach or train technical concepts in a classroom or lab setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Flexibility to accommodate occasional schedule adjustments Preferred Qualifications Master Electrician license Teaching, training, or mentoring experience Experience with automation, industrial systems, or controls OSHA certification Familiarity with digital tools such as Zoom and Google Workspace An equivalent combination of education and industry experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the role will be considered.
