Role The electrical designer is responsible for applying engineering principles and company values to each engineering project, providing high-value solutions for clients. As a true communicator and problem solver, you should be able to communicate job requirements with architects, owners, and other engineers to have a fully coordinated design. Take jobs from start to finish and have attention to detail to make sure all components of the design are coordinated and communicated in the drawings and specifications. You should be able to complete project management tasks and meet schedule requirements. Essential Functions Organize building into electrical zones based on size and use Evaluate multiple lighting and lighting controls systems and strategies, and communicate pros, cons and value of strategies and systems to owner and architect, and provide recommendations Develop complete power and lighting design while considering building type, owner competencies, and architecture of the building. Communicate power and lighting system requirements with the architect and other consultants for proper integration into building design Review engineering plans for completeness at

phases of design. Edit specifications for the specified scope. Review, evaluate, and apply building and energy codes and make interpretations for integration with design Answer city review comments. RFIs and questions from contractors during construction, coordinate favorable solutions to issues that arise for owner and design team Review contractor submittals for compliance with contract documents Ability to review construction progress in field, identify deficiencies, and communicate to contractors for items to be corrected Coordinate the contract documents between engineering disciplines and architectural details; participate in coordination meetings with owners and architects. Provide technical support to contractors throughout construction. Prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations for the approval of the project manager concerning the direction of the project. Ensure timely delivery of all completed projects and meet project schedules set by the Project Manager. Act as a technical advisor to junior staff regarding project assignments. Present electrical design to owner/architect when required. Serve as a field engineer during the construction phase of a project. Requirements Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with MEP engineers. Equivalent degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven design experience in the areas of building operation, energy use, and building mechanical systems. Must be able to use AutoCAD BIM and Revit for drafting and designing building projects. Must be able to travel and visit work sites as necessary for the job. Qualifications Demonstrated ability to build and foster client relations. Critical thinking and mechanical aptitude, with proactive thinking processes. Strong multitasking skills are essential. Excellent time management skills are necessary. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
