Electrical Designer Job Description What You'll Do You won't just be sitting at a desk. You will be the technical bridge between the client's needs and a finished set of prints. Responsibilities Walk the
Site:
Perform fieldwork to identify components and research existing equipment—you'll still get your boots dirty, just with a clipboard instead of a bender. Design for
Real Life:
Develop power distribution and control concepts that actually work for the guys in the field. Estimate with
Accuracy:
Use your knowledge of labor and materials to create construction cost estimates that hit the mark. Master the
Code:
Apply NEC and NFPA standards to ensure every design is safe and compliant.
Collaborate:
Work side-by-side with Project Managers and Engineers who respect your hands-on perspective. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of the heavy industrial field AutoCAD Exposure is a plus Experience in an industrial chemical processing environment is a plus. Ability to read power and motor control circuits. Experience in performing fieldwork for locating and identifying electrical components, instrumentation and/or related equipment. Knowledge of grounding requirements and practical applications for instrumentation and electrical equipment. Working knowledge of hazardous areas; including Class I and Class II locations. Working knowledge and experience validating NEC and related NFPA code requirements into designs. Work Environment The role is fully onsite at the corporate office in Midlothian, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.30/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
