Job Description

Role summary Design, document, and support communications tower sites and related IP/power infrastructure for ISP and Oil & Gas clients. Blend practical field-aware engineering with clear documentation, equipment staging, and client coordination to deliver reliable, serviceable sites. Core responsibilities Site design (under PM direction): Plan and lay out communication tower sites (radios, transmission lines, grounding, enclosures). Documentation (2D/3D): Produce build drawings and as-builts in SketchUp, Visio, and Adobe tools for construction and troubleshooting.
Power systems:
Research and specify autonomous power solutions for remote sites (DC plants, battery/solar/generator concepts); apply grounding/bonding best practices.
Bill of materials:
Generate BOMs covering radios, power components, grounding hardware, Ethernet/PoE, transmission lines, and accessories.
Equipment staging:
Program and bench-configure equipment for deployment (IP addressing, VLANs, basic routing/QoS, radio parameters).
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve power-related and site integration issues; revise documentation as changes occur.
Change control:
Maintain clear revision history and update site records after work is performed. Qualifications Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking (L2/L3 basics, VLANs, PoE). Basic AC/DC electrical theory; familiarity with NEC (NFPA 70) and Motorola R56 grounding/bonding. Proficiency with SketchUp, Visio, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop for site documentation. Clear written documentation and client communication skills. Nice to have Experience with remote/autonomous power sizing and environmental considerations. Solar PV for remote sites (array & battery sizing, MPPT controllers, hybrid gen integration, autonomy/run-time calculations). Low Voltage License CompTIA NET+
