The FPA Principal Test Engineer would be responsible for leading the Focal Plane Array (FPA) Test Group in designing and executing test plans for IR detectors and micro-electronics. Maintenance & Procurement:

Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot test equipment; manage vendor relations and part procurement.

Optical Configuration:

Setup and align laser sources, optical components, and cameras; support specialized Spot Scan testing.

Calibration Oversight:

Manage recalibration cycles for reference detectors (Si, Ge, Pyro), Blackbody sources, and Integrating Spheres to ensure test readiness.

Dewar Operations:

Configure and maintain open/closed-cycle Dewar systems (e.g., Heli-tran, cryostats) for FPA/FPM testing.

Cryogenics Handling:

Utilize LN2 and Liquid Helium for cooling; perform high-pressure Helium gas recharges for cryo-cooler compressors.

Validation & Software:

Execute pre-test Dewar validation and manage Thermal Cycling software to meet specific test parameters.
