Job Description:
High-Power Inverter Design Engineer We are seeking an experienced High-Power Inverter Design Engineer to lead the development of advanced power conversion systems for demanding industrial and energy applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in high-power electronics, inverter topology design, and system integration. Experience with medium-voltage drives is highly desirable. Responsibilities Design and develop high-power inverter systems from concept through production Develop power conversion architectures including DC/AC inverter topologies, gate drive circuits, magnetics, filtering, and protection systems Perform simulation, analysis, and optimization of power electronics systems for efficiency, thermal performance, EMI/EMC, and reliability Support hardware bring-up, debugging, validation, and failure analysis Collaborate with controls, firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering teams Define component selection for semiconductors including IGBT, SiC, and MOSFET-based designs Develop and review schematics, PCB layouts, and system-level electrical designs Conduct laboratory testing of high-voltage and high-current systems Support compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards Participate in design reviews and technical documentation Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 5+ years of experience in power electronics or inverter design Strong understanding of: High-power inverter topologies DC link design Magnetics and transformer design Thermal management EMI/EMC mitigation Protection and fault handling Experience with simulation tools such as PLECS, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar Hands-on laboratory experience with high-voltage/high-power systems Familiarity with digital controls and embedded systems is a plus Experience with medium-voltage drives, motor drives, or grid-tied systems strongly preferred Knowledge of industrial power standards and safety requirements preferred Preferred Experience Medium-voltage drive systems Renewable energy power conversion Industrial motor drives Utility-scale energy systems EV traction or fast-charging power electronics SiC-based converter design FPGA or DSP-based control systems
