Job Description Boeing Global Services Commercial Modifications is currently seeking Mid-level and Senior Cabin System Engineers to become part of our team in Long Beach, California. As a Cabin Systems Engineer, you will work with customers to develop electronic and electrical system requirements, analyzing and translating those requirements into system architecture, hardware / software designs and interface specifications. You will also test and validate to ensure the system designs meet operational and functional requirements across the full breadth of Boeing Commercial aircraft. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Long Beach, CA facility.
Position Responsibilities:
Collaborates with customers and suppliers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications Leads and executes tests and validates hardware/software to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements Perform laboratory integration testing as required Participating in airplane ground and flight tests as required Provide technical support and troubleshooting to airlines and modification sites Oversee the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements Solves problems and provides support for hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle Research innovative technologies for potential application to company business needs Position requires close coordination and teaming with other internal and external Engineering teams Mentoring and training new employees This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree 3+ years of full-time aerospace industry experience within Avionics, Electrical, Software, Cabin Systems, Inflight Entertainment Systems, Connectivity systems or Electro-Magnetic Effects Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Senior (Level 4): 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 1+ years of experience in a role which required knowledge of MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461, DO-160, DO-178, IEC-61000, and / or FCC part 15 1+ years of experience leading an integrated product team of engineers, supplier management and quality specialists, and certification experts through the design and delivery of certified hardware Typical Education & Experience:
Mid-level (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET
accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
