Job Description:
A growing technology company in the medical device and healthcare space is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to lead the design, development, verification, and support of complex electronic hardware used in innovative products. This role will play a key part throughout the hardware development lifecycle, including architecture definition, circuit design, board-level implementation, verification, troubleshooting, and sustaining engineering. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in analog and digital electronics, thrive in a cross-functional environment, and contribute to the development of reliable, high-quality products in a regulated industry. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of analog and digital electronic circuits for advanced technology products. Own hardware development activities throughout the engineering lifecycle, including architecture, schematic design, implementation, verification, and sustaining support. Support PCB and flex circuit design activities, including schematic capture and collaboration with layout engineers. Develop, document, execute, and analyze board-level and system-level verification testing. Perform electrical design calculations, tolerance analysis, and performance evaluations. Define board-level and system-level performance requirements for assigned projects. Verification & Troubleshooting Troubleshoot complex electrical issues at the component, board, and system levels. Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions. Support product and component failure analysis activities. Verify hardware designs meet functional, reliability, and compliance requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with software, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, and quality teams to integrate hardware into finished products. Support the selection, evaluation, and qualification of electronic components and subsystems, including displays, touch interfaces, batteries, and custom assemblies. Participate in design reviews and provide technical leadership throughout project milestones. Manage technical deliverables, timelines, and project commitments for assigned hardware initiatives. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline. 10+ years of experience in electronics design, development, and troubleshooting. Strong expertise in both analog and digital circuit design. Experience with schematic capture tools such as Altium, OrCAD, PADS, or similar platforms. Experience supporting PCB layout, board bring-up, and high-speed hardware designs. Strong troubleshooting skills utilizing standard electronic test and measurement equipment. Experience working with embedded systems and supporting firmware during hardware bring-up. Knowledge of communication protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, and USB. Understanding of the complete product development lifecycle from concept through production. Strong analytical, technical problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work onsite in Orange County, California. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing products within medical device, healthcare, aerospace, automotive, or other regulated industries. Familiarity with product safety and compliance standards. Experience with EMC/EMI design considerations, testing, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity concepts. Experience with electrical simulation tools such as PSpice, Multisim, or equivalent. Programming experience in C for embedded systems. Familiarity with MATLAB or similar engineering analysis tools. Exposure to embedded Linux environments. Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Compensation The anticipated salary range for this position is $130,000-$170,000 plus bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be based on experience, technical expertise, education, and overall qualifications.
