AV Design Engineer (AV/UC Systems)

The Opportunity We are hiring an Audio Visual (AV) and Unified Communications (UC) Design Engineer to join our Design Engineering team. You will own system design, programming, and commissioning for conference rooms, boardrooms, training spaces, operations centers, and executive briefing environments. You will work across Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Cisco Webex, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Shure, and Q-SYS platforms, partnering with Sales, Project Management, Installation, and Service to deliver complete solutions from concept through final acceptance. What You Will Do

• Develop AV system designs including signal flow diagrams, equipment layouts, and rack elevations
• Create engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, and bills of materials
• Design Unified Communications solutions across Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and Cisco Webex platforms
• Configure and commission Crestron, Extron, and Q-SYS control and DSP platforms
• Configure network settings, VLANs, QoS, and AV-over-IP infrastructure
• Conduct site surveys, needs assessments, and pre-sales discovery with customers
• Support Sales with technical proposals, scope of work documents, and customer presentations
• Verify installed systems against design specifications and resolve commissioning issues
• Provide escalation support to Service and Installation teams and deliver end-user training
• Maintain currency with emerging technologies and manufacturer product lines What We Are Looking For
• Minimum 5 years of total AV/UC industry experience, or 2 years in a dedicated AV design or engineering role
• Hands-on experience with control system programming (Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, or similar)
• Proficiency in DSP configuration and commercial audio system design
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and Cisco Webex certified devices
• Strong networking fundamentals including IP addressing, VLANs, QoS, and AV-over-IP
• Ability to produce technical drawings using AutoCAD, Visio, Bluebeam, or equivalent
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and written communication skills

• Manufacturer certifications (Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Shure, Q-SYS) preferred
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred but not required with relevant experience Compensation and Benefits

$26.00 - $48.00 per hour
