Job Description

AV Event Systems Engineer Mixon Digital Atlanta, GA Job Details 9 hours ago Qualifications IT asset management Technical documentation Electrical technical documentation Windows Computer management Following blueprint specifications AV system troubleshooting Live production performance Windows support Technical writing experience within technology Equipment inventory management Full Job Description About Mixon Digital Mixon Digital is a sports technology company that builds and operates real-time data-driven graphics systems for major pro sports teams, leagues, and events. Our live production platform delivers game-ready visual experiences across arenas, broadcasts, and venues nationwide — the kind of work that shows up on the scoreboard and on the screen. We're a close-knit, technically sharp team that moves fast and takes ownership seriously. If you want to do real engineering work in a live sports environment — not shuffle tickets, not watch someone else run the show — this is that opportunity The Role We're looking for an AV Event Systems Engineer to own the full technical lifecycle of our client event deployments. This is not a support role. You are the technical owner — responsible for making sure every system we ship is correctly imaged, every deployment is documented, and every on-site event runs without a hitch. You'll own system imaging and configuration, create and maintain engineering project plans, manage our hardware asset ecosystem, and execute on-site at major pro sports events — connecting our systems to client video infrastructure and making sure everything is show-ready before tip-off, puck drop, or first pitch. This role sits at the intersection of technical engineering and operational precision. You need both. The candidate who thrives here is someone who can configure a system, write a project plan, pack a truck, and troubleshoot a signal routing issue on-site — all in the same week. What You'll Do Systems Engineering Own system imaging end to end — configure, image, and validate all hardware for client deployments Manage software installation, updates, and license allocation across all client and internal systems Maintain and manage the system tracking spreadsheet — full ownership, always current Perform quality control checks and full system testing prior to every deployment Diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly in live, high-pressure environments Perform equipment repairs and maintenance within your abilities; escalate when appropriate Ability to receive and handoff signals with other trades. Strong acumen to collaborate with multiple stakeholders for a complete solution from server to display Troubleshoot live data connections: experience with serial data, XML, JSON Engineering Project Plans Create and own engineering project plans for all client events and system deployments Document network requirements, hardware configurations, venue technical setup, and room specifications Extract and maintain accurate packing lists from project plans Maintain technical documentation standards across all active and archived projects On-Site Event Execution Execute on-site at major pro sports events — hardware setup, signal routing, and system integration Connect Mixon Digital systems to client video infrastructure including scoreboards, broadcast feeds, and arena video systems Manage full event lifecycle on-site: setup, show support, and strike Serve as the primary technical point of contact on-site, interfacing with client venue staff and broadcast partners Remain calm and effective under live event pressure — issues get solved, not escalated Asset Management & Logistics Own the full hardware asset lifecycle: inventory, tracking, packing, shipping, receiving, and return Ensure all equipment is event-ready at all times — no surprises on deployment day Coordinate equipment allocation across concurrent events and client sites Maintain client site systems (systems deployed at client venues) — remote upkeep, imaging, and readiness What We're Looking For Required 5+ years of hands-on experience in AV engineering, live event production, broadcast, or a closely related technical field Working knowledge of video signal flow and distribution — SDI, HDMI, NDI, IP-based video, reference and genlock Experience configuring and troubleshooting Windows-based systems in a production environment Ability to read and execute from technical documentation, schematics, and run of show materials Strong organizational discipline — asset tracking, documentation, and project plans are always current Proactive problem-solver — you identify and resolve issues before they affect a deployment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding on-site tasks Willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours around live event schedules Professional, discreet, and dependable under pressure Preferred Experience in sports production, in-venue AV, or broadcast engineering Familiarity with graphics systems, video switchers, or live production workflows Experience with system imaging tools and deployment processes Networking knowledge — VLANs, NDI, IP video routing Experience maintaining remote or distributed equipment systems Certified compTIA network+ Why Mixon Digital Your work shows up live at major pro sports events — arenas, broadcasts, game day Own a real technical pipeline, not a crew position on someone else's show Work directly with pro sports teams, leagues, and major live events Close-knit team where your contributions are visible and your growth is intentional Clear path to increased technical ownership and on-site event lead responsibilities Fast-moving environment where the right person can build something that lasts We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
