Great opportunity for a Manufacturing Product Engineer - Electrical & Electronic!
Location:
Chicago, IL. Onsite (no hybrid or remote)
Hours:
Dayshift:
8am - 4:30pm (CENTRAL) Pay rate: Up to $44.00/hour . Requires regular time on the plant floor investigating active production issues This position is open to OPT candidates, but not 3rd party or C2C.
Experience Required:
: System Engineering, Root Cause Analysis, Quality Improvement, Low voltage wiring. 3+ years of experience in Automotive manufacturing / Plant quality product engineering or warranty analysis roles Hands-on experience in an OEM assembly plant environment is required Proven experience performing root cause analysis and driving issues to resolution in a production environment

OVERVIEW
In this role, you will lead the charge in identifying, triaging, and resolving design and manufacturing defects before they ever impact a customer.
Your daily impact will include:
Issue Resolution & Root Cause Analysis:
Investigate internal and external quality concerns. Determine whether the root cause stems from design, the supplier, or manufacturing, and collaborate with the proper skill teams to implement immediate containment.
Warranty & Data Triaging:
Support daily warranty claim binning, triage incoming claims, and prioritize containment actions using DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) data and priority rankings.
Change Management:
Manage the engineering change process by coordinating plant trials, leading sign-offs, and ensuring the assembly plant is fully prepared to absorb design changes from concept to production launch.
Electrical Diagnostics:
Review internal end-of-line electrical issues, triage DTCs, and develop structured workplans to resolve low-voltage Electrical Distribution System (EDS) concerns.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Attend Vehicle Team (VRT) sub-system meetings, lead design resolution for wiring/EDS issues, and participate in pre-production vehicle builds to log and track defects (via
AIMS/JIRA
).
Continuous Improvement:
Develop long-term roadmaps to eliminate high hurt internal/external quality issues, leveraging facts and data to build solid business cases for engineering improvements.
